About the Liminal Arcade
This space exists because liminal spaces are increasingly rare. Much of contemporary culture is organised around opposites: success or failure, work or play, productivity or waste. Games on one side, life on the other. The world itself, however, does not operate in binaries. Human experience unfolds almost entirely in between. Video games are often framed as distraction or escape. That feels incomplete. Some games do something quieter and more enduring: they shape how we respond to resistance, how we carry responsibility, how we sit with failure, patience, and composure. The Liminal Arcade exists in that in-between territory. Not to defend games, redeem them, or instrumentalise them, but to look at them as lived experiences. This is not a project about optimisation, productivity, or growth, and it does not aim to persuade or improve anyone. In a small and personal way, it tries to create a bridge between play and the rest of life, without pretending those domains were ever truly separate.
